Transit for Livable Communities Releases Policy Positions for the 2008 Legislative Session
Minnesota is a fantastic place to live. The 2008 legislative session provides a great opportunity to move toward a more balanced transportation system. Transit for Livable Communities and its action network are working hard up at the State Capitol to make sure all Minnesotans can reach their destinations. What can you do? Take action!

Biking Is Our Way of Life
Just in case you thought Minnesotans weren’t a hearty bunch, check out these numbers from Steve Clark, TLC’s Walking and Bicycling Program Manager. According to Steve, approximately one-third of bicyclists who use their bikes for transportation (as opposed to recreation) still get around by bike in the winter.

Light Rail is a Transit Heavyweight!
2007 saw astounding, record-setting ridership for the Hiawatha Light Rail line. In December, ridership exceeded an average of 30,000 each weekday, putting the total average number of riders for that month at 843,426—nearly 50,000 more than expected!
