Jessica-TreatAfter an extensive search this fall, Transit for Livable Communities is thrilled to announce that Jessica Treat will be taking the helm as our next executive director on January 5!

Jessica comes to us from St. Paul Smart Trips where she has served as executive director since 2007.

TLC is excited about Jessica’s leadership experience and vision—and the knowledge and strong commitment she brings to bike-walk-transit advocacy and programming here in the Twin Cities. We are confident she is the right person to lead and expand TLC’s efforts to advance equitable, sustainable, and healthy transportation options!

“Transit for Livable Communities is very enthusiastic about this next chapter for our organization,” said board chair Adam Welle. “Jessica Treat is a smart, strategic leader and a passionate advocate for transit, bicycling, and walking in the region. Under her direction, TLC will be well-positioned to advance our mission, grow our impact, and create positive change in Minnesota.”

Jessica brings to this position a collaborative approach and significant experience with multimodal transportation and community engagement. In addition to her eight-year tenure at St. Paul Smart Trips, she previously worked at the Midway Transportation Management Organization and served as the executive director of the Lexington-Hamline Community Council. She lives with her daughter and husband in Saint Paul.

“This new role is an exciting opportunity,” Jessica shared. “I look forward to working with TLC’s board, staff, allies, and members to build on the strong foundation that Transit for Livable Communities has established during its nearly 20-year history as a leading voice in transportation advocacy in Minnesota.”

Watch for opportunities to connect with Jessica Treat after the new year, once she officially joins our team at Transit for Livable Communities.

In the meantime, we wish you a happy holiday and a happy new year!
