Board of Directors Jan Lysen (President) is the Senior Program Director for Catalyst Community Partners, which works on revitalizing West Broadway in North Minneapolis. Prior to receiving her Master of Public Affairs from the Humphrey School at the University of Minnesota in 2009, she was a Vice President at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. She is a graduate of the University of St. Thomas (MBA) and the University of Minnesota (BA in Latin American Studies). Robert Aderhold (Treasurer) is a Senior Bank Examiner for the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis. Bob has worked in the financial industry for 25 years, including positions at Wells Fargo and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. He received a BA in Economics and a Masters of International Affairs from Columbia University in New York City. Charles Holtman is a partner with the law firm Smith Partners, PLLP, which focuses on representing watershed districts, government, and conservation groups. Chuck’s past legal practice has included working for state and local government, including two years as legal counsel to the assistant administrator for hazardous materials transportation at the U.S. Department of Transportation. He received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; his J.D. from University of Virginia Law School; and his Masters from the Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs, U of M. Vayong Moua is the Senior Health Improvement Project Manager at the Center for Prevention at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. He has also held positions at the American Cancer Society and Achieve! Minneapolis. He has worked with Minneapolis Public Schools as a Story Teller working with the program to Preserve Culture Through Story Telling. Vayong received his M.P.A. from Robert M. La Follette Institute of Public Affairs, University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his B.A. in Philosophy, Sociology/Anthropology and Asian Studies as St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. Jennifer Munt (Secretary) is the Public Affairs Director for American Federation of State County & Municipal Employees, Council 5. She previously managed community outreach for the Metropolitan Council and was outreach coordinator during the planning, construction and opening of Hiawatha Light Rail Corridor. She has served as the director of development for the Guthrie Theatre. Jennifer taught public involvement at the Humphrey Institute. She received a Masters degree from the Humphrey Institute, University of Minnesota, and a B.A. from Carleton College Gregory Pratt is a Research Scientist with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency in the Environmental Outcomes Division. He conducts research and regulatory work on air pollution transport and the effects of air pollution on human health. Greg also is an Adjunct Professor with the Environmental Health Sciences Division of the School of Public Health at the U of M. He received his Ph.D. in Plant Physiology from the U of M. He is an avid bicyclist who rides 4,000 to 5,000 miles a year. Bill Smith, AICP is the Founder and Principal of Biko Associates, a consulting firm focusing on planning and sustainability. Bill and his firm provide public outreach, traffic impact analyses, transit and bicycle planning, and other transportation planning services. Before founding Biko Associates, Smith worked as a community organizer for 10 years. He currently serves on the State of Minnesota Historic Preservation Review Board. He received his Masters in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Iowa and his BA from Wesleyan University. Darren Tobolt (Vice President) has worked since 1998 in the office of Ramsey County Commissioner Victoria Reinhardt. A lifelong East Metro resident, he is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and has lived in Saint Paul since 1996. He has served on many Saint Paul Civic Committees and Neighborhood Groups including Summit University Planning Council and the Capital Improvement Bonding Committee.
