The Red Rock corridor runs 30 miles from Hastings to the Union Depot in St. Paul and on to Minneapolis.  The Corridor is generally parallel to Trunk Highway 61, Interstate 94 and the Canadian Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe rail lines.

The Red Rock corridor is the same corridor currently used by the Amtrak Empire Builder and designated as the Midwest High Speed Rail Corridor connecting the Twin Cities to Chicago. The Obama administration’s interest in high speed rail and funding in the stimulus bill for high speed and intercity rail has heightened interest in this corridor.

Check the corridor web site for information. The web site has much information that is out of date (May 2009).  http://www.redrockrail.org/
